Craven Energy is a triathlon/multisport club based in and around Skipton, North Yorkshire. After forming in early 2009 we have enjoyed increasing membership. We now run regular coached training sessions and enjoy open water swimming over the summer months. We are affiliated with Triathlon England and British Cycling.
Our aim is to run a friendly, local triathlon club catering for all abilities from complete novice to seasoned Ironman.

Advance notice of a 'must do' session for all triathletes regardless of
age and experience!
Physiotherapists Alison Rose (physiotherapist to world class athletes)
and Vicky Annis (keen swimmer, cyclist and triathlete), both from
Carnegie Sports Physiotherapy Clinic, have agreed to deliver a running
drills session for our club on Monday August 16th, 6.30 - 7.30pm. The
MUGA (multi-surface court) at Craven Pool, Skipton has been booked for
this session and can be followed by a group run for those who are
interested.
Please email Carol with your intention to attend or post on the forum so we have an idea of numbers. The session will cost £3 for adults, £2 for juniors and unwaged.
There is a first aid course on 22nd of May, in Darlington at a cost of £66. Please email georgierutherford@britishtriathlon.org for details.
The next coached track session at Seedhill Athletic Stadium is taking place on Tuesday 4th May 7 - 8pm, £3 per person. If you get there early we have permission for you to use the static bikes in the gym for a pre-track warm up. Please post to the forum if you plan on attending.
The club is once again very grateful to Mr & Mrs Bannister for allowing us to use their lake for our open water swimming sessions. We are expecting greater numbers of swimmers this year. Please see the notices in the forums. 11th May is the first session which we encourage you to attend as it will focus on safety and canoe training (no swimming). The first swim session (water temperature/quality permitting) is proposed for 18th May. Watch the forum for updates and confirmation. We would strongly encourage car sharing where possible as parking space may be limited.
Well done to all those competing at Skipton Triathlon. We had some outstanding performances on a fantastic day. Thanks also to the Freebird team and marshals for their exceptional organisation.
Some photos of the early stages of the event here. You are welcome to download/print those photos for personal use.
Thanks to all who attended the AGM. Craven Energy is now one year old.
Seedhill Athletic Stadium, Nelson (off M65) has been booked from 7 - 8pm for a triathlon coached run/wheelchair/handbike session. Main focus will be on technique improving drills and pace judgement it will involve some fitness work also but aiming to avoid 'track fever' induced injuries will be a priority!
The fee is likely to be around £3 to help cover the cost of the track usage.
Richard Annable has offered transport from Craven Pool in his 7 seater.
Please let Carol or know via the web forum if you plan to attend.

Zdenka is planning a Craven Energy trip to the velodrome.
A taster session consists of about 30 mins of learning to cycle on the
track with the fixed wheel bike and then about 30 mins of free riding.
More experienced people, who have been before, can ride straight away
without having to go through the intro. The maximum number of people who
can be in one session is 16.
Prices: The taster session costs about £10, which includes bike hire.
The bikes have setup for Look cleats ane pedals, so road cycling shoes
are required. Or one can have normal trainers and use toe clips.
Alternatively, the road clip on shoes can be hired at additional cost of
£4. One can also borrow a helmet if needed. I will also need to book the
right sizes of bikes, for which i have the Veldorome's chart.
I have checked with Velodrome, and the track is available for hire on
the following dates:
Sunday 14th February 2010 (12.00 noon) - 13 places available
Saturday 6th March 2010 (6pm) - 16 places (full availability)
Sunday 7th March 2010 (12.00 noon) - 13 places available
Saturday 13th March 2010 (6pm) - 16 places available (full availability)
Sunday 14th March 2010 (12.00 noon) - 16 places also available.
